Who to Call

Who to Call: Children’s Emergency Guide

After the introduction of smartphones, we, including our children, have gotten used to having information at our fingertips. Gone are the days of repetitive memorization of one’s friend’s landline, parents/grandparents phone number, and unfortunately, the numbers of emergency services.

In order to be prepared for any situation, here are some numbers that we recommend your child to memorise, and a few extras which are lesser known, however extremely helpful in times of need.

Emergency Numbers:

  • Police: 112 or 100
  • Fire: 101
  • Ambulance: 102
  • National Emergency Number: 112 (Irrespective of what state you are in, this number is available for all emergencies)
  • Child Helpline: 1098
  • Anti-Poison Number: 1066
  • Women’s Helpline: 1091, (Domestic Abuse- 181)

Lesser-Known Numbers:

  • Senior Citizen Helpline: 1091 or 1291
  • Road Accident Emergency Services: 1073
  • Cyber Crime Helpline: 1930
  • Disaster Management Services: 108
